We are a world leading multinational financial services company, listed on the Fortune 500, and with a significant presence in Ireland. We have an immediate requirement for an Infrastructure Service Delivery Manager. This is a new role, it is a permanent career opportunity, and will be based on site in our data centre located in County Clare. Attractive base salary (region 80 – 90K) plus generous benefits package on offer to the right individual.
Role:
The purpose of the Infrastructure Service Manager is to manage the design, delivery, support, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure required by the business units in Ireland and in Europe. The European infrastructure is predominantly outsourced; hence, supplier management is a key function of the role. The role would suite an individual with a broad range of technical, general leadership and communication competencies and whose next desired career step would be to business CIO.
The key dimensions of the role are:
Managing 3rd parties who deliver infrastructure services;
Developing, in conjunction with the CTO and CIO, infrastructure strategies that align with the business strategy;
Implementing infrastructure related change programmes;
Manage and lead a team of service delivery managers to ensure an effective delivery of infrastructure services;
Develop and implement effective supplier management strategies to ensure the optimal delivery from 3rd party providers;
Build cross-IT and cross-functional business relationships that facilitate the realisation of the IT strategy;
Manage strategic 3rd party supplier relationships ensuring delivery of service and cost commitments;
Negotiate and agree infrastructure programme priorities at senior management level and with the wider IT and Infrastructure community;
Ensure that the highest standards of IT governance and control are applied to all infrastructure related processes and activities;
Manage the budgets, staff and resources for the Infrastructure programme.
Candidate profile:
This role shall suit a candidate with excellent IT service management, process and general management skills and with a proven track record of delivery. He or she will also have a broad technical grounding, ideally in both the application and infrastructure domain. You have a relevant 3rd level qualification and ideally are a certified Project Manager (PMP, PMI) and/or you are ITIL certified. You should have circa 12 yrs+ IT infrastructure experience with proven management and leadership skills. You have a proven track record of delivery in both the “application” and “infrastructure” areas of IT and you have excellent project management background. You have a proven track record of managing and delivering major, integrated projects (specifically implementing multi-phased programs across multiple Infrastructure technology streams) with a proven track record of managing external suppliers including the use of formal supplier management processes. /Service Management Methodologies e.g. ITIL and IT governance methodologies would be very desirable.
