Information systems Engineer
Our Client is an innovative medical device and drug delivery company specialising in the design, manufacture and marketing of aerosol drug delivery systems, aimed at the critical care respiratory market.
Information systems Engineer
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Support the day to day provision of IT/IS services to the business.
•Maintains computing environment by identifying network requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring network performance, LANs, WANs, Internet
•Ensure that system security and firewalls operate at optimum levels.
•Support business process change and systems improvement for expanding business operations through more effective use of MIS/IT resources.
•Troubleshoot all IT issues, from desk side problems to issues involving the support of the company infrastructure, ensuring that incidents are appropriately logged and communicated through to resolution.
•Support the provision of IS solutions to support the business, involving the development and support of in-house software applications and database systems which are designed for the specific requirements of the company.
•Ensure that business continuity and disaster recovery solutions are in place.
Education
•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, software engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
•Minimum 3 + years’ experience
•Excellent technical support experience in IT and communications technologies & equipment.
•Working knowledge of supporting and maintaining hardware and software applications.
•Microsoft Windows Desktop Systems and Windows Server Systems (2003,2008,2012)
•Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory
•knowledge in TCP/IP networks including DHCP, DNS, routing and VPN
•Proficiency in managing hardware routers, switches and SonicWall firewall systems
•Mobile, voice & data communications experience including VOIP and PBX management
•ITIL or similar ISO / quality processes
•Experience with Symantec Endpoint Protection and Backup Exec
•May be required to participate in on-call roster
