Information Systems Architect

This is a critical role responsible for the design and strategic information content and search capabilities of a multi-million global organisation and business enterprise applications.

You will be the lead information specialist on content analysis, taxonomy, search engines, Internet crawling, relevancy / ranking, machine learning, information extraction from unstructured data and web data mining to help produce their firm’s next generation core system.

A selection of your responsibilities will include

· The overall design of the information architecture, across multiple data types (structured, semi-structured and unstructured), balancing the need for access against security and performance requirements.

· Translating strategic requirements into usable information architecture, which may include an data model, associated metamodel, common business vocabulary and taxonomies, which will then be used to guide solution development and achieve consistency of information assets across the organisation

· Developing a metamodel management and repository strategy to manage all information architecture artifacts

· Information architecture and management consulting expertise to the business

· The design of the organization, indexing, labeling, and navigation systems to support browsing and searching throughout the systems.

· Stakeholder management – diverse global business groups

· Develop, communicate and support the implementation of corporate policies, standards, and procedures that provide effective architecture, governance and management of the company’s information/data assets

Experience Required:

· Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline

· Minimum five years experience working in a similar role

· Background in all of the above

· Experience with open source search engines like Solr or Lucene etc.

· Experience with architecture in a large scale real time business application system.

· Strong content Analysis

· Evidence of proven results within your solution designs

· SQL and database (Oracle/SQL Server / MySQL)

. Familiarity with the following technologies would be advantageous; apache tomcat, web services/REST/SOAP
