OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB
The primary purpose of this role is to project manage and support the rollout of various IWA ICT projects by serving as a link between the ICT Team and IWA’s Business Users of ICT Business Applications (primarily service delivery, management and administrative personnel). This role will combine a range of technical, project management and communications skills to coordinate the delivery and adoption of new ICT initiatives.
REPORTING ARRANGEMENTS
This role reports to the IWA Head of ICT & Procurement. However, as there will be a particular focus during the lifetime of this project role on delivery of telecoms and infrastructure initiatives this role will also have a dotted line reporting relationship to the IWA Infrastructure and Systems Manager who will direct much of their work on a day to day basis.
LIAISE WITH
For the successful implementation of this role there are a number of key relationships which should be fostered and developed. This role will report directly to the Head of ICT & Procurement but will also need to develop and maintain close working relationships with:
IWA Service Desk Team Leader/ ICT Service Desk Team
IWA Senior Management Team and local management
IWA business users
External vendors and contractors supporting the implementation key ICT initiatives
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
It is envisaged that a key project work area during the lifetime of this contract role will be in support of the implementation of changes to IWA’s telecoms infrastructure. This will include adoption of SIP based technologies, migration to managed broadband and managing the migration of company mobile phones, including providing one to one user support, to consolidate IWA’s mobile phone and fixed phone accounts with a single provider.
Supporting the roles of Head of ICT & Procurement and ICT Infrastructure & Systems Manager in coordinating the work of external contractors and other technical resources.
Providing second level technical support to IWA Business Users in their use of IWA’s ICT Business Applications,
Development and delivery of training and support to IWA Business Users to support IWA’s ICT initiatives in areas of telecoms and new business applications.
Agree key project plans for new IWA’s ICT initiatives with relevant IWA management personnel and update/report on these projects as they progress.
To assist with any other responsibilities or tasks as determined by the Head of ICT & Procurement, and ICT Infrastructure & Systems Manager or his/her nominee.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Training, Experience and Qualifications
At least 3 years of experience in the delivery of telecoms and ICT infrastructure projects in a corporate setting is essential
A relevant formal networking/ telecommunications or ICT qualification- either a recognized networking certification such as CCNA or a more general ICT qualification at QQI Level 6 or above is essential
At least 1 year of work experience in an ICT Service/ Support Desk setting is desirable
Strong project management and organizational skills- a formal qualification such as PMI, Prince or ITIL would be advantageous
Account management experience with external vendors is desirable
Ability to deliver training and one to one user support in a clear and engaging way
Knowledge and Skills
Detailed exposure to and knowledge of SIP and PBX telephony.
Strong IT skills and technical experience including familiarity with IWA’s existing and proposed business applications systems- exposure to Office 365/Share-point /Dynamics CRM from an Systems Administration perspective would be advantageous. (A substantial rollout of Office 365 across the organization will be taking place concurrent with this maternity leave contract.)
Excellent written and verbal communications including the ability to foster and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
