German / English Translator – 7 Month Contract Role

The SAP® Language Services Translation team at our SAP Global Support Center in Galway, Ireland is looking for an 7-month maternity cover for the role of German / English Translator.

Task:
Translation of SAP notes and training materials related to SAP enterprise software products from German into English using SAP terminology and computer-assisted translation technologies

Requirements:
At least 6 months experience living in a German-speaking country (or English-speaking country in the case of German native speakers)
Technical background and understanding of business processes is an asset, but not essential
Previous experience working in a technical translation position is also an asset, but not essential
University degree in a relevant area, such as German or translation studies, business studies, computer science with German; or native speaker of German with near-native English and equivalent university qualification, such as Diplomübersetzer Englisch, English studies, business studies with English
Native speaker of English with excellent German, or native speaker of German with excellent English
Excellent written and oral communication skills
