About the position – Technical Support Engineer – Application and Desktop Delivery Support Team
Citrix has been operating in Dublin since 1999, currently employing 100 people in EMEA Technical Support, with almost 80 of these based in our Dublin headquarters. These include Technical Support Engineers, Escalation Engineers, Technical Relationship Managers, Support Readiness and Support Account Managers. Due to continued growth we are now recruiting for an Advanced Technical Support Engineer on our Application and Desktop Delivery Support Team, based in our Dublin office in East Point Business Park, Dublin 3. The Application and Desktop Delivery Support Team deals with the support of XenDesktop and XenApp along with Citrix’s other Windows based products.

Position Summary
The Technical Support Engineer is responsible for the support of Citrix Systems windows based products to technically advanced customers and partners via the phone email and web. Through working and learning with very bright and talented people you will support Citrix’s enterprise to smaller and medium sized customers with their technical issues to a resolution.

Candidate Requirements
Minimum requirements:
• Fluent spoken and written French and English
• A Computer Information Systems Degree or similar education experience.

• At least two years of experience in a technical customer support environment or Windows server support field experience

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a positive customer service attitude

• A strong desire to learn new technologies and technical skills

• Ability to understand and troubleshoot technically complex issues

• Deep knowledge of Windows 2000/2003/2008 server administration
• Knowledge of networking components and associated protocols

The following are not strictly required but are an advantage:
– industry certifications such as CCA, CCEA, CCIA, CCEE, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, CCNA are an advantage
– ability to read some programming languages and follow the basic structure and flow of code
– Knowledge of Windows architecture Internals
– ability to understand network traces

Skills developed while in the position
• You will become a subject matter expert in state of the art Citrix products
• Gain advanced knowledge in Windows Operating systems concepts, architecture, security behaviour, memory management, networking stack and how to troubleshoot each component
• Develop soft skills in handing critical situation and difficult conversations
• Develop skills in advanced debug
