DevOps / Sysem Administrator Engineer

As a DevOps / Sysadmin Engineer you will:

• Be a good 50/50 mix of “sysadmin / devops” and server side languages.
• Maintaining our stack, built on AWS.
• Support our PHP Development team with API integration, QA Testing and Deployment.
• Own the current and future production environments.
• Be comfortable working in a traditional hosting & AWS environment.
• Architect, build and maintain our migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Support rapid provisioning and scaled hosting of sites on AWS.
• Devise, implement and manage monitoring and alerting on current and future environments.
• Be able to devise and implement backup processes and strategies.
• Devise and implement backup processes and strategies • Perform general system maintenance.
• Optimise and manage database servers.
• Support the Development and QA team with troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Mentoring of developers & support staff.

Requirements:
• 5+ years of Systems Administration/Devops experience in open-source technologies.
• Strong knowledge of *NIX environments, e.g., filesystems, network stack, etc.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft environments would be very desirable.
• At least 5 years experience supporting OOP programming using PHP 5.2+
• Framework knowledge would be beneficial.
• Experience of Integrating against APIs.
• Programming and scripting, e.g., PHP, Perl, BASH, PHP, awk, sed, etc.
• AWS experience is preferable (EC2 & VPC) • DBA experience (MySQL, MS SQL)
• Network administrator experience.
• Experience of TCP/IP networking including firewalls, iptables, full understanding of IP subnets and routing issues.
• Experience with debugging utilities such as trace, nmap, wireshark, tcpdump, etc.
• Knowledge of Salesforce, Office & Mail servers a bonus.
