Development Consultant required with a minimum of 3 years in development or support and maintenance role is desirable. Galway City.
This team is part of the Singl.eView Professional Services (PS) organisation within the company. The Singl.eView Professional Services Team are responsible for configuring and deploying products for customers, and also to generate customer satisfaction by providing timely and effective solutions to support requests reported against the Singl.eView suite of products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Individually or as part of a project team develop and implement software solutions to meet customer commitments.
Take ownership of support requests, seeing them through to successful resolution
Apply analytical skills to identify and solve problems.
Develop a good knowledge of at least one product within the suite, with a working knowledge of the broader suite of products.
Liaise closely and collaboratively with the customer (internal or external)
A willingness to at times be on-call and carry a pager outside of normal business hours is highly desirable.
Willingness to undertake short-term travel which may arise on occasion.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Degree Qualified with at least 3 years relevant experience.
Experience in a Development or Support & Maintenance role is desirable.
Experience with a Unix environment. Requires knowledge of Unix commands and concepts including environment variables, file permissions, login/out procedures, shell scripting.
Knowledge of SQL and at least one of C/C++/Java/Perl/Delphi is required.
Experience with Oracle and Tuxedo is desirable.
Analytical problem solving skills to aid in swift problem diagnosis and resolution of problems.
An aptitude for grasping problems and solutions in a business as well as a technical sense. The role requires technical knowledge but also an ability to understand the impact of the problem on the customer’s business.
Clear and professional communication skills (oral and written) and inter-personal skills.
Ability to work cooperatively with others.
Attention to detail and quality.
Ability to work under pressure, with a sense of urgency.
Industry experience is desirable, particularly in the area of telecommunications.
