Control Programmer

Control Programmer, £30k – £50k plus benefits, Newry , LS CPN

My client is now seeking a Control programmer to be based within their Maintenance Department the successful candidate’s will be required to provide control system and programming support for all aspects of production manufacturing in addition to continuous improvement and project work.

Responsibilities:

* The primary role is PLC programming within the Electronics group for various different systems, ideally to include Mitsubishi Fx, Q series and Siemens Step 7 PLCs.
* SCADA programming ability is desirable.
* The role involves design & development of complex control systems on new projects, modification of control systems which include additional equipment, instrumentation and/or parameter/configuration changes.
* Configuration of Variable speed drives to meet plant needs.
* Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting to production manufacturing, in the area of process control systems

Requirements:

* The successful candidate will be educated to HND level in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Recent experience in process instrumentation would be very beneficial, especially in hazardous areas.
* Technical knowledge of process control, PLC’s, SCADA
* Personal qualities should include good analytical skills, a methodical approach to troubleshooting, cost awareness, good negotiation skills and leadership ability.
