Configuration and Release Management Administrator / Developer

Curach Consulting is a leading Business and Technology consultancy. We work with a wide range of clients across various industry sectors to help deliver complex business and IT projects.

We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Configuration and Release Administrator / Developer for a contract role, based onsite with one of our financial sector clients. This is a 6 month contract role based onsite at our client’s city centre premises.

The role will involve working with on a Configuration & Release Management team who are responsible for:
• writing automated rollout scripts to compile release components into a Release Unit.
• testing the accuracy and stability of a Release Unit.
• deploying code to testing & LIVE environments
• management of development & testing environments.

The role will initially involve close working with the current Release & Configuration Management team to complete a knowledge transfer phase.

Tasks involved include:
• Building & testing Release scripts
• Deploying releases to Test & Live
• Troubleshooting releases to Test & Live
• Building & testing Rollback scripts
• Documenting Release processes
• Support for existing development & testing Environments (Clone/Backup/Restore/Refresh environments (code & data))

Required Skillset:

Technical
• Minimum 2 years experience of Oracle PL/SQL & Sql*Plus (Oracle 8/9 I/10g)
• Minimum 2 years experience of Oracle Forms Developer/Builder (Forms 6I)
• DBA experience
• Experience of working in an automated Release management environment
• Exposure to Windows NT and VMS
• Knowledge of Weblogic
• Oracle – Sql*Plus
• Toad
• Dimensions, Subversion, PVCS ………..
• Scripting languages – DOS, Perl ……….
• ANT
• Quality Center

Interpersonal
• Ability to establish relationships and maintaining contacts with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
• Ability to coach developers in the CM/RM process
• Service oriented attitude
• Time Management
• Flexibility (involves some working evenings and weekends)
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to prioritise tasks
