BI Solutions Architect

Matrix Recruitment are seeking a talent BI Solutions Architect for a leading pharmaceutical company based in Dublin West.

Responsibilities:
The BI Solution Architect is responsible for leading and developing all BI applications in support of the company’s business needs. They will support the technical infrastructure of the Cognos system as well the front-end application and reporting.
This person will be required to
• Partner with multiple business process teams ) to identify reporting requirements.
• Define appropriate data models and ETL / ELT processes to fulfil business requirements
• Develop Cognos semantic layers , cubes and reports in support of business needs
• Leverage Cognos tools in the modelling of enterprise data and in the creation of enterprise and analytical reporting needs.
• Execute and facilitate issue resolution against formal test plans
• Define, specify and document changes and enhancements that are to be completed by United Drug BTS and external vendors
• Assist with further developments in the financial consolidation, reporting and BI projects, including design, planning and estimation
• Actively participate in the process of implementing SAP BW reporting as part of UDG Healthcare transition to SAP.
Previous Experience:
• Minimum 5 years in building dimensional data models and ETL / ELT processes
• Minimum 5 years of developer experience with Cognos BI (Framework Manager & Studios)
• Strong SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services knowledge.
• Expertise in Cognos Transformer: creation and maintenance of cubes. SQL Server Analysis Services knowledge would be nice to have.
• Expertise in developing, testing, and implementing reliable, scalable and efficient BI solutions
• Experience using TM1 Architect and Perspectives Desirable
• Expertise in implementing and maintaining security models Desirable
• Previous experience managing projects (BI or Planning)
Technical Skills
• Data Modelling
o Extensive experience in dimensional modelling (Kimball methodology).
o Modelling tools: Power Designer (desirable), ERWin
• ETL Knowledge
o Data loading processes (ETL / ELT)
o SQL Server Integration Services.
o Transact SQL
o DBA tasks may be required as part of the role (indexing, tuning, partitioning, etc.)
• Cognos BI
o Framework Manager design (DMR / relational)
o Cognos studios to develop relational and multidimensional reports.
• TM1
o TM1 expertise: understanding of TM1 structures, rules, feeders.
o Controller exposure via Financial Analytics Publisher (FAP) and TM1

• SAP BW/BI Experience would be an advantage

Education:
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in an IT or related field
• Cognos BI Certifications in report authoring (relational / multidimensional) and administration would be an advantage.
