Job Overview:
Our client is recruiting for a number of experienced Business-Systems Analysts to support their Digital Solution Center [DSC].
The selected candidate will join a large DSC team consisting of Business-Systems Analysts, Project Managers, Developers and Testers. The DSC are currently introducing a more AgileIterative approach across the entire organization and the resources involved are organized into cross functional teams known as ‘Pods’ with each Pod aligned to one of DSC’s client groups.
Role Summary:
This is a Business-facing IT role in which the Business Systems Analyst will be required to develop an understanding of the client business (e.g. Individual Life Insurance, Annuities, Corporate functions etc.,) and the DSC applicationssystems supporting that business.
The Business-Systems Analyst will apply the knowledge acquired to improve and increase the success of the business by working with both the business and technical teams who are responsible for building, modifying and maintaining the systems that support the business.
Key to this role are the skills, abilities and techniques required to act as the ‘enabling bridge’ between the Business and Systems with the emphasis being on representing the Business need throughout. Experience working in an Agile environment would be a distinct advantage.
The Business-Systems Analyst need to have a good appreciation of the technology delivery processes and be able to learn the technology in use and its capabilities in meeting the needs of the client. In particular, knowledge of and experience with web and mobile technologies would be a distinct advantage.
The Business-Systems Analyst role involves a combination of responsibilities, tasks and deliverables.
The Analyst;
• will engage with all Stakeholders to determine, document and validate business functionalsystem requirements using relevant and applicable techniques (e.g. user stories & acceptance criteria, process flows etc)
• will be required to inform, support and verify the User Interface wireframesdesign process
• may be expected to define system interface requirements where applicable
• will support and inform the Development, QA and UAT phases and
• may be required to provide input to QA and UAT test plans
The Business-Systems Analyst will have a sufficient understanding of systems to be able to engage and communicate effectively with UI Designers, Developers, System Architects and QA regarding requirements.
There may be a need to spend time at the client base in the US to accumulate knowledge and build relationships.
Qualifications & Experience:
• The ideal candidate should have a recognized college/university IT-related qualification
• Have 2 years experience working in a Business-Systems Analyst role
• Experience delivering Web solutions to Business would be an advantage i.e. familiarity with the concepts involved in Portal technology, Web Services, Mobile capabilities, Analytics etc
• Experience working in an Agile environment would be a distinct advantage.
• Experience in: Excel & Visio
