in PD 5.4 European Patent Academy

The European Patent Academy ensures the overall co-ordination of the external education and training activities of the European Patent Office. The mandate of the European Patent Academy, based at the European Patent Office in Munich, reflects the need to improve patent-related intellectual property training and education structures in Europe via distance learning, virtual classroom and traditional classroom methods.

Main duties:
Manage the European Patent Academy's e-learning programme;
Manage and coordinate the tasks of a small team, including external consultants;
Liaise with internal and external partners and suppliers;
Support and contribute to the development of course curricula and contents;
Draft activity and financial reports;
Manage budget requests and monitor the activity-related budget;
Provide guidance and prioritisation on future distance learning developments;

Any other duties specified by the Director.

The ideal candidate will have:
Experience of people management
Good knowledge of industrial property, in particular the patent system
Proven knowledge and understanding of e-learning technology (e.g. Learning Management Systems – LMS) and methodologies
Experience of training programme co-ordination, development and monitoring
Ability to work in a team in a multicultural environment
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Excellent command of English

Minimum qualifications:
Diploma of completed studies at university level or – in exceptional cases – equivalent professional experience. Excellent knowledge of one official language and ability to understand the other two.

The successful candidate will be selected on the basis of qualifications, supplemented as appropriate by interviews and/or tests.

The interviews will be held in calendar week 7.
