Position Responsibilities/Duties:
Our Client requires a strong, self-motivated and experienced Oracle Database Architect to partner with the applications development to design, develop and support mission critical applications. Candidates should have a strong background in database design and be able to demonstrate an interest in a variety of database technologies and desire to grow and develop their career. This position is an initial 12 month contract.
[b]Responsibilities of the Oracle Developer Architect:[/b]
* Work closely with application development and database administration teams
* Create and maintain application data dictionary and data models
* Translate business requirements into data design requirements
* Assess current database and application design and recommend improvements
* Database performance monitoring and tuning
* Assist test team with functional and stress testing
[b][i]Experience & Knowledge Requirements:[/i][/b]
* Understanding of Oracle 9i, 10g and 11g concepts, theories, principles and best practice with 3 or more years in a similar environment
* Strong PL/SQL knowledge and experience troubleshooting and tuning code
* Experience with J2EE web-based applications and websphere application servers
* Experience in database architecture schemas/products, database objects, file system structure, tables, views, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, sequences, indexes, and constraints.
* Experience designing, developing and supporting Oracle 11g databases on SUSE and RedHat Linux platforms.
* Knowledge of application database privacy practices and laws
* Experience working with LDAP an advantage
* Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
* Good interpersonal skills and good written and oral communication

* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
