New Relic
Technical Marketing Engineer
San Francisco, CA or Portland, OR
Do you enjoy working with a wide range of languages and getting your hands on the latest cloud, DevOps, and mobile technologies? Are a developer who wants to break into marketing while expanding their repertoire of technical skills? If so, we are looking for a polyglot Technical Marketing Engineer to help us build demo environments that excite and inspire developers, sysadmins, and application team leaders.
You might know us for getting developers and ops together to solve application performance problems. We are expanding our original mission to be the leader in Software Analytics: Empowering companies to harness and access the billions of metrics embedded in their software apps to successfully compete as digital businesses. Doing this requires the measurement of every aspect of applications, from mobile user experiences, to server-side application performance, to business analytics and more. As you can imagine, making this broad vision come alive through demos requires a developer that loves learning new technologies.
This role will carry on New Relic’s tradition of creating passionate fans among development and operations teams. The right candidate is eager to learn new platforms, languages and is ready to tell New Relic’s technical story though his/her demos. If you are looking to transition into a field-facing role then this may be the job for you.
The right candidate likely has:
- Expertise in 2 or more of the following languages: Java, Ruby, Python, PHP, C#, JavaScript, Objective C and/or Swift – and a desire to learn more.
- Expertise configuring and programming to popular cloud platforms, such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and/or Google Compute Engine.
- Experience developing on Linux, iOS and/or Android – and a desire to learn more.
- Experience in installing, configuring, and programming to popular application infrastructure products, such as MySQL, Postgres, RabbitMQ, or Redis.
- Ability to tell great stories through technical content, such as by postings to GitHub, Slideshare, YouTube, or similar sites.
