Description

– The network and network security engineer will join our clients Network & Technical Security Team to support the global network and will report to the Network Architect.
– The team works very closely with service partners and key vendors to deliver network and security services to the business.
– This role will be heavily involved in the day-to-day management of the global network and involved in key network and network security projects.

– The network team support a global network spanning 150 locations worldwide – manufacturing plants to warehouses to corporate offices.
– There are three datacentre locations (US & Ireland) at the core of the network, providing a highly resilient network environment.
– This level of resilience is driven throughout the organisation’s network.
– The network must support seamless transmission of business-critical applications, internet and cloud services.

– The Network & Technical Security Team collaborate closely with other infrastructure teams to ensure smooth transmission of data for business-critical applications.

 
 
Role Summary & Responsibilities

– Network Lead for key deployment projects such as SD-WAN & LAN transformation, network refreshes, firewall replacement projects, acquisition integrations
– Liaise and collaborate with multiple network and security vendors and service providers, including offshore teams
– Deliver network & security solutions to the internal business units in response to their high-level business requirements,
– Action firewall, network and network security Change Requests within the agreed Change Management process
– Support & troubleshoot Cisco network environment (900+ routers & switches) located across the globe
– Support & troubleshoot Checkpoint & Cisco ASA estate (60+ firewalls) globally
– Support & troubleshoot Checkpoint Remote Access Solution for global estate
– Support & troubleshoot Forcepoint Webproxy Solution for global estate
– Provide level 3 network support to the clients global Service Desk on customer network issues relating to LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN, Firewall filtering & web security/proxy service

 
 
Previous Experience and Skill-level

– 5+ years of experience in enterprise routing, switching, wireless and network security
– Strong working knowledge of Checkpoint & Cisco firewall design and network security
– Vast experience with enterprise networks and providing network & network security solutions
– Experience with network monitoring and reporting and monitoring of vendor SLAs and KPIs
– Ability to document and illustrate network proposals and solutions in articulate manner
– Previous experience with managed-service partners, vendor management & service delivery
– Excellent communicator with ability to communicate ideas & solutions very well both to senior management, key stakeholders, internal customers, to other team members, to Service Desk
– Good working knowledge of fibre-optic cabling, structured cabling systems, electrical power and best practices
– Self-motivated self-starter with strong organisational skills & ability to prioritise tasks well
