PDU OSS Project Manager

Athlone is the OSS (Operations Support System) headquarters within Ericsson and main development centre for OSS and the OSS RC Product Line.

Job Purpose

The Project Manager will lead a project team with end-to-end responsibility for OSS analysis, planning, execution and delivery.

Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, you will
• Formulate plans and work package structures for assigned sub-projects
• Track/Review progress against plan and where appropriate drive corrective actions.
• Track/Review expenditure against budgets in a multi stake-holder domain.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to the Project Management Team.
• Liaise with Line Manager/Resource Owners over use of resources on the program and obtain resource commitments
• Identify issues and risks to the completion of the Project and take action to manage project risk.
• Plan for and hold project review meetings with key stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively to the Project Stakeholders.
• Manage the overall project team to ensure stakeholder and customer expectations are fulfilled.
• Ensure quality assurance and control activities are performed in the project.
• Participate in the Main Projects’ management structures, providing progress reports and contribute to problem solving and overall team progress
• Operate all applicable processes within the sub-projects
• Collect reliable fact-based measurements for activities in the sub-projects; aggregating and reporting measurement data to relevant line and project fora
• Drive the introduction of Agile development practices in the project teams.

Skills Required

The successful candidate will:
• Have in excess of 7 years experience in telecommunications and management.
• Have displayed Leadership and the ability to produce results at the head of a multi-national project team.
• Have demonstrated skills within the PM BOK knowledge areas.
• Have a background in Software Development.
• Knowledge in Telecom management and or IP competence is preferred.
• Be customer oriented with strong commercial awareness, some experience in the management of 3rd party projects is preferred.
• Have a recognized Project Management Qualification and ideally scrum certification.
• Possess the following key skills:
