The role requires a candidate capable of performing Test Activities within a primarily Java-designed environment.
Responsibilites
As a Tester, you will be responsible for:
• Troubleshooting – the candidate should have demonstrable skills in identifying software faults – primarily in Java code.
• Test Case design-The candidate must display the ability to work with design engineers in the early phases of design, and proactively define the test requirements for the software under development.
• Perform activities as assigned in the team plan written by the team lead to ensure milestones set out within the project are achieved.
• Test Description Design and updates on a per shipment basis.
• Execution of assigned Test Cases.
• Updating test case status accurately in online tracking systems and on a daily basis. Timely precise Test Reporting skills and techniques are essential.
• Process assigned entries in the Fault slippage analysis [FSA] or drive FSA for the team
• Ensuring that network and operator load is up and running on all servers, coordinating this with and reporting this to team leader.
• Write Trouble Reports on assigned area
• Prepare for and attend Quality Door meetings if requested by team lead.
• Suggest ideas for test environment improvement be they ideas on smarter ways of testing, filling gaps in current test scope, implementing simulation support for new requirements, etc.
The candidate must be self motivated, and show technical leadership within the design and test team.
The Candidate must be an excellent communicator and reporter, and be able to describe faults with precision and clarity.

• Prior experience of testing
• The candidate must have a high degree of technical skill in scripting – particularly Unix- in order to create test-tools, simulations and other scripts where required.
• A high degree of process adherence is required
• Previous team leading experience
• Prior Test experience of OSS-preferred bu not mandatory
• A broad knowledge of Ericsson OSS-RC experience a advantage (Preferred but not mandatory)
• Overall knowledge of Solaris (Sparc & X86)
• Perl or Shell Scripting (Korn/Bash)
• Solaris 10 System Administration
