Experienced Software Engineer: Feature Owner Ericsson Network IQ (ENIQ)

Athlone is the OSS (Operations Support System) headquarters within Ericsson and main development centre for OSS and the OSS RC Product Line.

Job Purpose

Ericsson Network IQ (ENIQ) is an internal performance management application for multi-vendor and multi-technology environments. It collects and processes data for use in performance reporting, resource planning and service assurance.

The Feature Owner is a senior, technically able and highly productive practitioner that has proven experience working in activities from early analysis & design, through programming, integration and testing, to deployment activities and 3rd line support. The Feature Owner operates as a leader and advisor to less experienced and less senior developers, and demonstrates a capability to build and maintain highly effective software engineering teams.
Responsibilities
• The Feature Owner will be the technical leader for the product offering
• He/She will have the overall technical view of how product is designed
• He/She will be part of Design team but heavily involved in feasibility and early design
• Responsibilities include technical leadership for the entire design team
• The key goal is to ensure that the team deliver a robust, maintainable and extensible product.
Skills Required
We are looking for Java Evangelists with superior skills in Java and related platforms (e.g J2EE) with the following expertise:
• In depth knowledge and Expertise in development platforms & frameworks (e.g. Eclipse) and in representational languages (e.g. UML, XML)
• Expertise in domain specific systems, products & protocols
• Proficiency in applying and improving design rules, development models and processes, knowledge about how to develop secure Software etc
• Demonstrated ability to develop and apply reusable design patterns and software components
• Ability to coach, mentor and lead at a technical level, adopting an approachable helpful, non-judgmental style in leading development teams
• Ability to develop and promote continuous improvement in software development practices, in a flexible, innovative and communicative manner
• In depth knowledge of how to take an IP or high level specification through all stages of development and produce quality code
• Experience in data handling, database expertise or front-end design would be an advantage but not essential
