Database Architect Ericsson Network IQ (ENIQ)

Athlone is the OSS (Operations Support System) headquarters within Ericsson and main development centre for OSS and the OSS RC Product Line.

Job Purpose

Ericsson Network IQ (ENIQ) is an internal performance management application for multi-vendor and multi-technology environments. It collects and processes data for use in performance reporting, resource planning and service assurance.

The Database Architect is a technical expert with proven experience in data handling strategy and architecture, from collection, storage, indexing to retrieval. He/She will have experience in design of distributed data and metadata solutions to ensure optimal speed and efficient retrieval and querying.

Responsibilities

As a Database Architect, the main responsibilities are:
• To ensure that the solution architecture is designed primarily for speed of storage, indexing, retrieval and querying
• To decide how data and metadata can be distributed across solution for optimal speed and efficiency
• To ensure that the cost of development and future enhancements is not prohibitive to further expansion of ENIQ Evolution Offerings.

Skills Required

• Experience in lead design of real-time, or near real-time, database systems using Sybase IQ
• Expertise in other storage methods
• Database Administration, tuning and optimisation skills
• OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) oriented database design.
