Due to continued expansion, we are currently looking to recruit an experienced IT Lab Operations Manager for a full time permanent position in Cork, Ireland.
This is a management position and the saray and package will reflect the experience and expertise of the candidate
You will be responsible for providing first level management of a team of technical individual contributors that are responsible for the support of a large scale Engineer Development Laboratory, encompassing all equipment, Infrastructure & Operating Environment
Duties
Provides team leadership.
Provides direct management of technical individual contributors, assigns and directs their activities.
Serves as technical/business/process consultant.
Develops innovative solutions to complex technical, business and process challenges.
Anticipates future needs, develops recommendations and implements solutions.
Leads a team responsible for the planning, installation and maintenance of the Development Engineering Laboratory Operating Environment.

200 Servers across multiple OS platforms, primarily Solaris & Windows

Requirement’s
Establishes work priorities for individual contributors, prepares activity and progress reports.
Reviews and evaluates work of team and prepares performance reports.
Establishes relationships with Laboratory Customers:
Lab users are primarily located in Ireland, U.S & India, spanning multiple individual functional units & responsibilities
Keeps management, locally and in corporate, informed of issues impacting their business
Establish relationships with Corporate Functions and Campus Cross functional departments
Consults with IT managers to coordinate activities and prepare presentations and proposals.
Initiate Projects through IT process as necessary.
Defines and manages functional goals, objectives, standards, policies and procedures. Ensures service and quality standards are met or exceeded
Manages talent through the hiring, development and performance management of staff.
Participates in cross-functional initiatives and collaborative opportunities that impact business results.
Responsible for OS and system software installation, support and maintenance activities on servers that are part of the development environment, including ongoing server monitoring, tuning, performance, security and anti-virus tools and overall health.
Provides regular business reporting and metrics to management. Identifies opportunities to drive cost efficiencies and manage and control budgets.
Skills
Possesses strong product/technology/industry knowledge
Understanding of IT Industry, particularly the Data Storage Industry.
Knowledge of appropriate networks, products and protocols.
Ability to influence others to achieve results.
Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments.
Project management skills.
