Senior Java Lead Developer
The Client
Our client is one of the world’s leading financial services companies with a history dating back more than two centuries. They have a truly international presence and employ more than 500 people in Ireland.
The technology division within the company has undergone significant change over the past fewyears. A new divisional structure has put a strong emphasis on personal and career development for the staff within the function.
This, coupled with a major upgrade in technology across the board, and a very significant software project underway, one of the largest in Ireland, will give successful applicants a new and challenging environment in which to develop their careers.
Role Description:
· Design, develop, integrate, test, transition to production, and maintain e-business applications
· Participate in project planning
· Provide input into the evolution of the software development environment and methods
· Manage production support related issues, co-ordination of fixes and liaison with third party suppliers.
· Monitor industry trends, technologies and standards for potential internal use.
Essential Skills and Experience:
· Experience with several projects using Java / J2EE in a web based environment
· Project related use of Websphere and Websphere portal
· Good understanding of OOAD, UML & Design Patterns, Service Oriented Architectures
· XML
· Clear understanding of quality control processes and procedures within a development environment
· Extensive knowledge of one or more of the following: Object-oriented development, UML, Websphere Portal Server (WPS) V5 or higher, Struts, Rational Suite experience, CVS and Service Oriented Architecture knowledge or experience
Candidate Profile:
· Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience
· Preferably an industry standard accreditation eg Sun certified Java developer
· Successful applicants will have operated within a recognised application/service delivery process and methodology such as CMMi or RUP and understand the importance of change management, testing and documentation.
Based in South Dublin, convenient to DART station.
