Senior Risk & Compliance Manager

realTime is seeking a Senior Risk & Compliance Manager who will be responsible for ensuring that all statutory and regulatory requirements for the company are identified, evaluated and implemented. You will also ensure that all matters relating to the company’s Operational Risk are effectively managed. The candidate will be responsible for co-ordination and oversight of the Risk & Compliance Team. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED · Excellent knowledge of and skills to apply legal, statutory and regulatory requirements relevant to Insurance. · Knowledge of Data Protection requirements for Insurance and Brokerage companies. · Knowledge of Anti Money Laundering requirements for Insurance and Brokerage companies. · Experience and knowledge of Operational Risk. · Ability to self manage, co-ordinating own workloads and priorities, and those of others. · Excellent communication and presentation skills at a senior level. · Excellent attention to detail and assimilation of information. · Experience of working within the financial services industry. · Relevant third level qualification. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES · Effectively own and manage the risk management framework for the company, ensuring comprehensive risk identification, mitigation and controls assurance testing and keeping close traction on mitigating action plans. · Ensure effective operation of the Risk & Compliance Committee ensuring that all papers are issued and all actions tracked which arise from the meeting. · Responsible for ensuring Controls testing plan is carried out. · Prepare regular Risk and Compliance Board reports ensuring that the Audit Committee is kept up to date on progress against monitoring plan. · Report regularly to the Senior Management Team on all open loss events, breaches and audit action items. · Ensure successful completion of annual Control Self Assessment and track any actions arising from this. · Provide risk and compliance sign offs for changes/promotions as required within the companies. · Effectively communicate and implement the requirements of, and changes to, relevant UK and Irish legal, statutory and regulatory matters with management and colleagues. · Raise staff awareness of the benefits of compliance, and to develop/maintain a strong compliance culture within the companies. · To establish and maintain procedures for the implementation and monitoring of risk and compliance issues safeguarding the companies interest and ensuring best practice. · To be actively involved and manage relations with industry committees to ensure leading edge knowledge and where possible influence regulatory changes and actions. · Regularly review the company’s Risk Profile in association with the risk owners, recommending amendments or additions as appropriate. · Manage, coach and motivate the Risk and Compliance team to ensure key objectives and operational standards are achieved. · Manage relationship with Group Audit and track progress against plan. · Manage relationship with Group Risk and Compliance to proactively monitor marketplace, industry and regulatory trends.
