This is a Senior level position. You will be a Linux Expert and this opportunity will offer you a unique chance to push the boundaries. This role is an integral role in the Company’s strategic direction, development, and growth. The ideal candidate will effectively work in a team environment and have flexibility to adapt to change. In addition you will have strong organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to multi-task.
You will provide support and complex solutions in many areas including: IT and Marketing with electronic mail and mailing lists, Postfix, MySQL Administration, Apache configuration and Administration, BASH and PERL scripting, Monitoring, Security, Squid Proxy and DNS configuration. The successful candidate will be an experienced LINUX engineer with a complete understanding of the Debian and RedHat Distributions and underlying applications with a focus on Apache, Postfix, MySQL and BIND.
Essential Skills/ Qualifications required:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record and be able to satisfy the majority of the following:
• B.E. or BSc in Comp Sc
• 5 years of industry experience, including experience in web and ecommerce technologies
• Expert in Linux/Windows system administration and significant experience in database, application and web server deployment, configuration and maintenance
• Must have experience with Cacti Monitoring and Nagios
• Have proven technical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Business focused and able to prioritise workload appropriately.
• Experience of working in medium sized IT Department supporting a significant server infrastructure ideally in a 7X24 environment
• Ability to handle a varied and high workload, including support calls and projects
• Self starter
