Senior Systems Architect (Infrastructure)

Senior Systems Architect (Infrastructure) for a large financial services client based in Dublin south is responsible for leading the architecture and design of infrastructure Projects, and to participate and advise during the implementation of these projects and ensuring the continuous improvement of Information Systems methods, tools, techniques and the delivery of service to the business working on international projects adhere to company standards and methodologies to ensure compliance. This is a senior position within a team of 22 architects across Europe. As a project team member he/she will be expected to work closely and effectively with other project members such as Project Managers, Analyst, Technology Specialists, and Developers. Maintain New Technology Awareness and provide Thought Leadership and Direction.
Person : to get this role you will have a degree with over 15 Years experience in a technology; at least 5 years as an Infrastructure solutions architect role for in a large enterprise environment with distributed locations and offices. Candidates should have a good understanding of defined architectural methodologies and have strong process skills overall; have leadership qualities, and influencing skills.
Technical :Candidates must have a background and/or working knowledge of a number of key platforms and technologies, in particular; AIX UNIX, HP-UX, and Open Source Operating Systems; Citrix and VMWare, and/or other Virtualisation Platforms; networking principals; Security; messaging; enterprise storage, backup, RDBMS, and Disaster Recovery Solutions; previous experience in the financial services industry. Desirable is experience with Oracle, SQL Server OR DB2 etc.
