Quality Assurance Engineer (New)

Quality Assurance Engineer required for established client in North Down

Our client is seeking an experienced QA Engineer who will create, maintain and execute test plans for new and existing technology in broadcast markets. Technical support for manufacturers of broadcast encoders and set top boxes in European and worldwide markets will be part of the role.

Requirements;

Technical primary degree or equivalent education and work experience
Experience in test automation, QA and product verification
Experience of scripting and test automation techniques
Proven ability to create product and software test plans
Good written and verbal communication skills
Metrics gathering and technical report creation skills
Experience of testing embedded and desktop software

Desirable;

Competency in C and C++ programming
Developing and requirements capture for automation tools
Understanding of software engineering methodology and QA/Test and automation methodologies
Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
Experience of defect tracking tools such as Bugzilla
Familiarity with source code control via CVS and/or Subversion
Experience with one or more of: broadcast engineering, audio, codecs, MPEG, standards and set-top boxes is desirable. Interfacing with internal and external teams, the ideal candidate will be flexible, self motivated and have the ability to work on their own initiative.
