Software Interface Engineer
Our client is a leading international IT consultancy. Due to continued growth they are now hiring an experienced Software Engineer. This is a permanent role, based in Dublin, with frequent travel to customer sites throughout Ireland.
Role:
This is a broad role, with a very technical focus, which will involve working closely with customers on a wide variety of sites. In this challenging software role you will be using your core skills in software programming/development to create appropriate interfaces, manage conversions, and work on software integration projects. The role will include software design, configuring, software test, customizeing Crystal Report templates, and working on very complex software build / configuration issues, specifically loading a base set of data through the use of SQL scripts.
Skills/Education/Experience:
Educated to degree level, you have excellent customer facing skills and strong problem solving skills. As the customers are in the healthcare sector, a background in this sector (ideally hospital/clinical) would be desirable, but is not essential. You should have circa 3-4 years experience of working in a software engineer role and should have proven programming skills in programming languages such as Java, Perl/Python/Ruby. In addition, you must have strong unix based scripting (eg shell, AWK, C etc). Knowledge of Crystal Reports 11.5 would be highly desirable. Experience of networking protocols would also be very desirable, as would prior experience of software interfacing/integration, or of software configuration/build issues.
Finally, experience of Unix sys admin, Oracle database products or of HL7 would also be desirable.
You should have a proven ability to work on own initiative and to work to tight deadlines and manage project milestones. You should have the desire and the ability to guide and influence junior colleagues.
