Systems / Network Engineer – Dublin – 6 Months Contract

Role: Systems Engineer Contract

Rates: Competitive – based on expertise
Duration: 6 months

The client is based in Dublin South. Due to the high level of projects ongoing in the company they now require an additional systems engineer to join their team for at least 6 months. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your technical skill set supporting a network with a user base of over 2,500. You will be working closely with and reporting to the systems engineer manager. This role is carried out in a high availability environment and pays a daily rate.

Day to Day Responsibilities
• You will be contributing to the design and implementation of Enterprise system projects
• Monitoring performance of systems to ensure optimal usage is realised
• Conducting routine upgrade and / or patches to systems
• You will be expected to resolve any issues escalated regarding your appointed systems
• From time to time you may be required to work on Application Development project work
• General systems engineering duties

Essential Skills
• SAN experience
• Tape Libraries exposure
• Exposure to an ITIL orientated environment
• Storage Management System experience
• Solaris server administration (LDOM’s)
• VMware
• Unix and Windows server administration

Additional Requirements
• Third level degree in a related discipline
• 3- 4 years experience in a similar role
• Understanding of Disaster Recovery processes
