Technical Architect – Infrastructure

Role Description:
As a technical architect the successful candidate will have responsibility for the overall global design and management of IT systems. This includes LAN/WAN topology and in-house systems. It also includes providing third level operational support and implementation responsibilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Hands on experience in design and implementation of IT solution architectures including MS AD, LAN/WAN, MS Exchange and SAN topologies addressing organisation's short & long term strategic needs.
• Experience in defining infrastructural strategies at enterprise level providing technical leadership in this area.
• Extensive experience on implementing and supporting Linux environments.
• Specifying changes and enhancements to current platforms.
• Experience in supporting AIX & Linux/Oracle environments
• Acting as a technical lead responding to service escalations interfacing with the ITS Service group and acting as a mentor to junior team members.
• Lead/drive infrastructure projects in a structured fashion from requirements stage through to delivery and handover to IT services.
• Must be self-motivated with excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Selection Criteria

• Minimum 5-7 years solid experience in networking with excellent problem-solving ability
• Extensive experience with VMware, Microsoft and Unix/Linux platforms.
• Experience in IP Telephony & VoIP a plus
• Knowledge of SUN environments would be an advantage
• Proven knowledge of Dell, Juniper and IBM infrastructure
• Experience with QoS, Routing Protocols (Static, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF), Spanning Tree, Layer 3 Switching, and VPNs (IPSec, MPLS, VPLS)
Qualifications

• MCSE + Messaging with 5+ years of production support
• Microsoft Technical Specialist in SQL desirable
• VCP certification required
• Hands-On implementation experience of Exchange, Active directory redesign, SharePoint & System Centre platforms.
• Network accreditation desirable
• ITIL foundation desirable
Prince certification desirable
