Our client is a dynamic and innovative software company based in Limerick that develop web-based applications for the global market, so they are in the booming “cloud computing” area. They develop and provide web based (saas) management and cost control systems for businesses, institutions and multi-site companies. They are an Irish firm, growing rapidly, with a clear vision on their growth over the next 5 years, with excellent management structure and with solid financial backing.

Role:
This is a new job, it’s a permanent job, based full time in Limerick. The successful candidate will work as a key part of a small software development team. The role will be very much a “hands-on” role, programming for enterprise scale web based applications, using Java. As there will be very tight timescales the focus in developing new features rather than in documenting, testing etc. The development environment is based around J2EE, OOD, RAD and LINUX.
The role will be server side programming, and will be programming for enterprise scale web based applications, using Java and other technologies such as Flex. This company is keen to operate at the cutting edge of technology, and as such this is a great opportunity to learn new skills and play with the latest technologies!

Skills/Experience required:
Candidates should be educated to degree level in a relevant subject area, and should be very numerate with strong analytical skills.
The ideal candidate profile is circa 5 – 10 yrs software development experience, with solid commercial experiences of enterprise-style Java technologies such as J2EE, Java 1.6, JSP and Tomcat. However, my client is looking to hire somebody with core skills in Java programming, so candidates with less experience than this profile may also be considered. The following skills would also be desirable:
Flex, Hibernate, Struts, AJAX, Javascript, embedded systems, formal systems programming using C/C++, OOD, SQL, scripting, Linux.
Good team working skills and the ability to work on your own initiave is also required!
