Software Test Developer

SoftCo have an excellent opportunity for a Software Test Developer to join the QA team in our Product Development Group. Based in our headquarters in Dublin (South), the successful candidates will report to the Software QA Manager. Working in this varied, technically challenging role, you will develop a wealth of QA skills whilst having the opportunity to add value in a busy development environment.

Your role:
• Design, develop, execute and maintain code to test all aspects of our product including:
o Performance testing.
o Scalability / stress / load testing.
o Functional testing.
• Bug recording, tracking, regression and closure.
• Analyse and communicate results efficiently and comprehensively to the development team.
• Install and maintain required test platforms.
• Provide internal support to systems engineers.
• Liaise with developers and other departments as required on items relating to product quality and technical queries.
• Regular reporting on project progress to all key players.
• Other day to day departmental duties as required.

Your profile:
• Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university or technical college.
• Strong programming skills with a background in C#, .NET.
• Solid experience and working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
• Previous development experience in an in-house QA / test environment, ideally including performance, scalability and stress testing.
• Excellent technical knowledge of the Microsoft Development Platform is essential.
• Good understanding of basic networking, hardware and MS Server Operating Systems.
• Familiarity with technologies including WF, WCF, WPF, Silverlight, XAML, XML, SOAP, WSDL, HTML, HTTP, RSS and AJAX is beneficial.
• Experience in testing document management and business process automation applications would be advantageous.
• Assertive, motivated individual with a genuine interest in software testing and product quality.
• An eye for detail and a systematic approach to all tasks.
• Fluency in written and spoken English with excellent communication skills.
