Position: Analyst Programmer Internal Systems

 Position Objective:

 This job description is intended to outline the key areas of responsibility related to the role of Analyst / Programmer Internal Systems. The duties outlined are not exhaustive and may change from time to time or be extended.  The position reports to the Senior Analyst Programmer. 

 Duties and Responsibilities:

 Ø       Develop, support and maintain existing trouble ticketing, configuration, Project Management, QA, process automation, reconciliation tools etc.

Ø       As part of a project team, take responsibility for the some or all stages of new projects in the Internal Systems domain.  This may involve meeting with clients and vendors to discuss requirements and project issues. 

Ø       Undertake the role of technical consultant during projects or support tasks.

Ø       Where necessary, it may be required that the candidate work on other development / support tasks.

 Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will be well rounded in all areas of IT.  He/she will be comfortable with picking up unfamiliar technologies at short notice and be able to bring creative and workable solutions to all kinds of problems.

 The role requires a confident self starter with the ability to work on own initiative and also as part of a team.  The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver effectively and professionally at all times, with keen attention to detail.  

 Ø       Minimum two years experience in software development / support, ideally in a financial environment.

Ø        Candidate should have experience of the complete software development lifecycle.

Ø        The following technologies will be used as part of the role:
Java, Ruby / Rails, PHP, C, Perl, Python, VB / .NET, VBA, unix scripting
MySQL, Oracle, Access, SQL server
Eclipse, JUnit, JBoss
A level of Windows/Linux sysadmin would be useful

Ø       Experience in configuring and maintaining Web servers such as Apache or IIS

Ø       Experience in configuring and development of ReconNET application highly desirable.

Ø       The role will have a high level of autonomy and the candidate will be expected to take ownership of projects from the start and follow them through to resolution.

Ø       Highly customer focused with excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Flexible and adaptable to a changing work environment and business needs

Ø       Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills

Ø       Desire to learn and develop new technical skills

Ø       Candidate must be willing to travel as required

Ø       Degree level in relevant discipline a distinct advantage

Ø       Fluency in English is essential

Ø       Proficiency in the use of MS Office packages
