They deliver products and services that are distinguished by their quality. An opportunity has now arisen for a Graduate EDA Software Tester to join their team on an 11 month contract basis.

This is the ideal role for a graduate with commercial software testing experience looking to develop their career with an established and successful company.

As a Graduate EDA Software Tester, you’ll be responsible for solving software problems using your full range of skills, while working with some of the best engineers in the industry.

This isn’t a role in which you’ll simply debug and run test cases, you’ll also use your hardware and software design skills to create innovative test designs and systems.

Your duties will include:

– testing FPGA software and IP
– creating cutting-edge designs with which to test FPGA implementation software
– using PERL and TCL to develop automation scripts and identifying tests for automation
– improving the test architecture for new and existing software and IP applications
– driving test strategy as an ongoing activity, reviewing the challenges, assumptions and requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

– experience in a similar software testing role
– experience of synthesis and simulation of FPGA designs
– a working knowledge of VHDL or Verilog
– a degree in a relevant subject such as electronics, electrical or computer science

Additionally, as a Graduate EDA Software Tester, you will have excellent organisation, teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills. Superior analytical and problem-solving skills are also key.

Although not essential, experience of PERL or TCL scripting and/or experience of writing software using C, C++ or Java would be a distinct advantage to your application. Experience of de-bugging hardware problems would also be beneficial, as would knowledge of Unix or Linux operating systems.
