Java Web Application Developer – Belfast

Our Client is a leading brand within a large group of companies, due to continued investment and success we are recruiting for a Java Web Applications Developer to join the Technology Team.

Based in Belfast and reporting to the Project Manage you will take responsibility for the design & development of core aspects of the application & client integration projects whilst also providing technical guidance & sharing expertise with other team members. You will need to have a hands-on approach to Java development while also provide technical leadership & ownership of specific projects.

Responsibilities:
* Support the Project Leader and Project Manger in the delivery of projects.
* Provide support to other team members.
* Analysis, design, development, testing, support and maintenance of web applications.
* Adhere to the company's software development standards and best practices.
* Provide 2nd line support in hours and out of hours.

To apply you will need
* Good understanding of software architectural patterns & best practices.
* Minimum of 2 years relevant, practical experience.
* Strong understanding of Java.
* Skilled at database design & SQL.
* Knowledge of Core Java & J2EE design patterns.
* Experience of medium or large-scale commercial projects.
* Full project lifecycle exposure.

 The ideal candidate would also have:
* Experience at developing applications using Struts & Hibernate.
* Experience at developing interfaces using XHTML & JavaScript using jQuery or equivalent.
* Some Linux, Apache & MySQL experience.
* Understanding of Agile development processes.
