SQL Server DBA / Developer – Contract/Perm

We currently have a good opportunity for a SQL Server DBA / Developer with 2 years experience that is interested in working on all aspects of the database infrastructure including administration, data maintenance, ETL operations, creation of new tables and relationships, writing sophisticated data transformation and validation procedures (T SQL DML), writing backend business oriented procedures and creating database upgrade scripts (T SQL DDL), reporting, data mining and business intelligence.
Experience in re factoring database schemas and objects and an understanding of continuous database integration and agile database development is of interest. The database is highly transactional and runs 24 x 7 so applicants must demonstrate the highest levels of attention to detail; be able to work to the highest levels of technical craftsmanship and reliability and remain resourceful and creative in the face of difficult technical challenges.
This is initially a 6-12 month daily rate contract with the possibility of converting to a permanent role.
Role / Opportunity:
• Server administration and maintenance.
• Design and creation of new database storage objects and relationships.
• Refactoring of existing database objects, data storage schemas, transformation of existing data to new storage schema and full and detailed validation of transformed data integrity.
• Design and creation of sophisticated business oriented procedures.
• Automation of database tasks.
• Maintenance and improvement of data integrity.
• Building data models and analysis cubes for business intelligence.
• Designing and implementing reports.
Skills / Experience:
• Degree in Computer Science or Certified Microsoft Database qualification.
• 2 year’s previous experience of database re factoring and data transformation.
• Fluent in T-SQL DML and DDL and fully competent in creation and use of stored procedures, triggers, scheduled tasks.
• Fluent in database programming concepts.
• Experience with SSAS and SSRS.
• Creation of .NET CLR database procedures an advantage.
Rate:
• 200 – 300 EUR Daily (depending on experience)
