Role:
Working as part of a global software engineering team you will be working on the development, operation, and maintenance of complex software technology systems (enterprise infrastructure) including systems admin and network design, software configuration management, software development (primarily scripting) and SQL/database administration. The career level is degree qualified IT candidates, with circa 3 – 5 years relevant experience.
The successful candidate will be involved in maintaining and configuring development environments and will be involved in Unix and WinTel systems administration tasks, including using scripting languages to create tools to increase productivity and quality. You will define system level requirements and develop system level architectures and you will analyse .systems architectures and defines improvements.
You will perform maintenance and enhancement of new and/or existing development tools, application service components or product delivery infrastructure, on both Unix and Wintel platforms.

Required Experience:
Educated to degree level in a relevant subject area (e.g. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering), you have circa 3 – 5 years software work experience, and you have a good understanding of the software system life cycle (from requirements gathering to product retirement). You have solid skills in scripting (korn shell, Perl, Javascript, DOS batch files, ANT, etc.) You are skilled in UNIX and Windows system administration and you have some experience of database administration. Configuration management experience (Roundtable, subversion, CVS, Bamboo, etc) and/or issue tracking system experience (JIRA, Bugzilla) would be highly desirable experience.
The successful candidate will have to occasionally work off hours to support planned and unplanned maintenance of hardware, software components and environments, and in addition all team members take turns in a Helpdesk rotation and being the helpdesk leader for the week.
Good communication skills are essential for this role.
