We are a world leading finance services multinational company listed on the Fortune 500. We have an immediate requirement for an experienced Release Management Engineer. This is a permanent job based in our state of the art data centre located in Shannon, in County Clare.
Role:
You will be managing the release systems and process for the deployment of code and configuration changes across multiple environments and you will be responsible for the administration of the CVS environment. You will define, own and monitor the production acceptance criteria for the promotion of code/configuration changes into production as part of our change control processes and you will drive a structured approach to accept, store, approve and release changes to candidate environments. You will design and implement CVS structures based on understanding the IT programme/project requirements.
Your remit will include training of users and teams in relation to Release Management processes and tools, and tracking and analysing release metrics to demonstrate release management activities and continuous improvements.

Candidate profile:
Educated to degree level, the ideal candidate will be experienced in release management technologies (CVS), including experience of installing and configuring CVS Clients (Tortoise CVS). You should have a good understanding of branching and tagging and of CVS commands. You should be comfortable with Linux and be able to write scripts in PERL, Python, SED etc. You will have a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle in general with expertise in the area of release management best practices in particular.
You should have proven analytical skills allied with excellent presentation, facilitation and communication skills.
