We are a global leader in IT, with a significant presence in Ireland. We are now ramping up for a major recruitment drive in our offices in Galway city as we build on our expertise in cloud computing. Our investment in Cloud Infrastructure and Services is key to or future strategy. Cloud Services will have a huge impact on the way in which IT is supplied and consumed by individuals, small/medium-sized enterprises, large enterprises and governments – whole new classes of service and functionality will be made possible. The promise of Cloud Services is profound and exciting for both users and providers, and we are uniquely positioned to play a key role in making it real and compelling.
As part of this exciting project we are now hiring 50 talented software professionals for permanent roles in our Galway technology centre. In particular we are now hiring experienced systems engineers. You will be working as part of a fast-moving, global, entrepreneurial team creating a large-scale distributed management system for delivering and managing cloud infrastructure and platform services. You will be involved from day one in the development of industry leading remote support technologies that provide hardware fault analysis and system configuration collection. These roles will focus on various stages of the software development life cycle, including research, design, develop, configuration, integration, testing and maintenance of existing and new business applications and/or information systems solutions through integration of technical and business requirements.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis of business requirements, coding of modifications or new program, creation of documentation, testing and maintenance of applications, infrastructure, and information systems including database management systems.
You have a primary degree in a relevant subject area and have a solid background in software engineering or software build/config/scripting, on either the Microsoft platform (eg Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Microsoft Server 2003 and 2008, C#, C/C++ ) or open systems/Unix platform (eg Java, C/C++, Oracle, HP-UX, Linux, scripting).
You should have high energy levels, be passionate about technology and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
