Contract JAVA Developer – UK £400 / Day

Daily Rate: £400/day

[b]Our client is an International company that is growing quickly in 2011.[/b]

Specialising in Virtualisation and Cloud Computing Solutions they now have a requirement for a Contract Software Engineer with Java & Python expertise for a 6 month contract.

[b]Position Summary:[/b]

Requirement for a Software Engineer with experience of the full development lifecycle (encompassing requirements specification, delivery, QA/testing, release). Contractor will be tasked with extending the clients existing development tools infrastructure and continuous integration systems, and will be expected to plan and execute releases and upgrades of live systems.

[b]Technical skills required:[/b]

• Python (+ 'twisted' asynchronous app framework ideally)
• Java and Tomcat
• Issue Tracking Systems, ideally Jira, including Jira APIs (SOAP interface and plugin APIs)
• Linux (both as a user and developer)
• Development tools and scripting languages: make, bash, version control systems (ideally mercurial)
• Database design/development (including schema design and db/app integration), and administration (including diagnosing performance problems / performance tuning).
• Ideally with have experience of postresql.
• Maintaining, extending and developing live customer-facing service delivery platforms

As this is an immediate start, suitable applicants will already be set up and operating as a Contractor in either the UK or Ireland.
