Major Responsibilities:

• Plan test strategy for one or more areas of a product
• Responsible for creating, locating and acquiring data required for testing assignments.
• Responsible for developing test scripts based on requirements
• Responsible for creating, executing and recording the results of assigned test cases
• Implementation of CMM or equivalent standards into process
• Identify software problems, determining steps to reproduce them, and enter them into a problem-tracking database.
• Responsible for reporting status and results of System Test Activities
• Ensure application is tested to a high quality
• Responsible for test coverage of one or more Subsystem areas with an understanding of the entire system.
• Take a Technical lead on all projects assigned
• Determines automation strategy
• Involved in project planning, tracking and oversight
• Gives feedback on documents undergoing review

• Responsible for managing the development of test data and the test environments for the System Test phase.

• Seeks out and uses test tools to test specific system areas more effectively.

• Be able to keep to the project schedule, notifying the Project Lead or Manager of issues/risks.
• Answers questions in response to complex customer issues that have been escalated to QA for validation and resolution.
• Updates project databases accurately and timely, based on the current project milestones.
• Ensure test environment has been set up according to specified business needs.
• Identify Test priorities, test cycles, regression packages and project risks
• Support Team Lead in implementing policies and procedures

Position Requirements And Education: The ideal candidate must be educated to diploma/degree level with some years experience of Mainframe applications and Systems Testing.
Knowledge of any of the following areas an advantage:

• Mainframe Technologies
TSO , JCL ,VSAM / QSAM ,Cobol , File-Aid , Hiperstation )
• Setup of Test Environments using various software and hardware Configurations
• Relational databases ( SQL / DB2)
• Quality Centre
• Microsoft Office applications
• Positive / Negative Testing
• Should have experience in Test strategizing and planning.
