Job Description: Help Desk Support Engineer
Reporting To: Service Manager
Primary Objective
To provide help desk support for customers via telephone and remote support.
To work as part of the IT Support team.
Key tasks
• IT Desktop and Server Support to our clients.
• Proactive Remote Network Monitoring.
• Ensuring Service Level Agreements are adhered to.
• Escalate relevant issues or calls to appropriate personnel / teams.
• Fielding of up to 30 calls per day.
• Diagnose and fix problems surrounding Microsoft Operating Systems and Software.
• Diagnose hardware related problems and log for field service.
• Maintain full, accurate and complete records.
Skills / experience required
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of TCPIP, DNS, Active Directory
• Server 2003, SBS Server 2003, Exchange 2000/2003,
• WAN / LAN /Firewall Technology
• Knowledge of Backup Solutions and Technology
• MCSE / MCSA or equivalent industry qualification.
Other Key Attributes / requirements:
Excellent Communication Skills both written & oral.
Excellent customer service skills, both face to face and over telephone.
Attention to detail and completion good accurate information in our call logging system.
Coordination and organisation of workflow in the service department.
Passionate about Customer Service.
Must have the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and isolate problems using all available resources.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, with good communication skills, attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills.
