Major multinational company with over a billion dollars in revenue are currently planning an exciting new project for Galway. They have a major European presence and are focused on the cardiac care arena having developed and continue to develop leading technology for use in cardiac intervention and surgery.They are currently seeking to set up a leading edge Research & Development and Manufacturing facility for a flag ship Business Unit in Ireland. In order to move this project forward they are sourcing a number of experienced personnel in Engineering including Manufacturing, Project management, Mechanical, R&D, Electrical and Software.
SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Responsibilities:
The Senior Software Engineer will be a technical leader for this discipline and will lead engineering tasks such as design, implementation, testing and documentation within the Software Department.
Totally responsible for the software development process within the organization including development of procedures and work instructions for software development, selection and implementation of development tools and techniques.
Responsible for all software elements in product development including:
Design (Architecture and Software Design)
Implementation and documentation of deliverables
Engineering Studies and testing
Technical Interface to other departments
Associate & Engineer Development and support
Selection of Software components, tools and procedures including hardware choices based on software needs
Lead the technical team through all product software design and development life cycle phases to help ensure product quality, manufacturability, reliability and cost effectiveness
Work/Lead as assigned by management to investigate NCs, CAPAs and Complaints to determine any issues.
Lead creation of documentation associated with software engineering activities including:
Design and Development Plans
Requirements
Design Documents
Engineering Studies
Lead all product development projects with multi-disciplinary teams from start to finish.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Software or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 7+ years work experience in software design and development.
Strong skill level in engineering principles (Design, Implementation, Documentation, Troubleshooting).
Masters of Science in Related Field or equivalent experience
Strong experience of software concepts and overall project Management Concepts
Excellent verbal & written communication skills including presentations (internal & external customers)
