IT Support Engineer
Successful candidates will become part of an IT Support Team providing hardware and software support to customers in different countries. Candidates should posses strong analytical skills and be proven problem solvers along with being a good communicator.
Job Purpose
The IT Support Engineer's main responsibility is to resolve Customer Service Requests (CSRs), provide consultations, handle outages and emergency calls, and perform regular software updates. The team will also be involved in systems integration projects in which case you will be responsible for hardware & software installation and upgrades, integration and configuration activities, verification and testing.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Customer Service Requests (CSR) handling (Analysis, Troubleshooting, and Corrective Maintenance) for complex faults. Direct consultation with customers.
• 24×7 support as part of a team.
• End to end troubleshooting for the issues related to Fault Management, Performance Management and Software/Hardware Management.
• Perform release upgrades on live Servers and roll-out.
• Liaise with local support teams.
Technical Requirements
• Unix/Solaris SA experience
• HP X86 platform hardware experience
• EMC storage experience
• Networking/Telecommunications experience
Personal Requirements
• Certificate/Diploma (in Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent.
• The successful candidates will have good communication and documentation skills.
• Be good team working and problem solving skills.
• Willing to do shift work to cover 24×7 support.
