Are you a senior IT professional with proven experience of leading a successful team? Do you have good programming skills, including PHP and MySQL? If so, our client wants to hear from you.

Offering support for web efforts in over 30 companies worldwide, our client aids their customers in promoting the products and services that they wish to sell. They are currently on the lookout for an IT Technical Director to join their team.

As the IT Technical Director, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time and to budget. You will also report regularly to the Managing Director, Board and Senior Management Team on project status and issues.

Serving as a technical expert for the business, you will manage the technical team of around 30 developers, due to grow to approximately 50 within the next year. Offering technical support across practices, including definition and positioning, you will also suggest alternative technical solutions to meet client requirements more efficiently and effectively.

Your key duties will include:

– designing and developing solutions, ensuring strong optimisation and functionality
– analysing, reviewing and modifying web systems
– assisting in troubleshooting software application issues
– providing SQL administration in live and test environments
– troubleshooting technical issues and identifying modifications needed in existing applications

To be considered for this position, you must have:

– experience in a senior technical role gained within the IT sector
– demonstrable experience of managing and mentoring a technical IT team
– a working knowledge of most programming languages including PHP and MySQL

As the IT Technical Director, you must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to lead, motivate and inspire your team. Strong problem solving skills are also key.
