1st Level Desktop Support Engineer – long term daily rate contract based in Royston, Hertfordshire
Immediate start required for 1st line support engineer working for a multinational company providing IT support and administration services, troubleshooting, escalation, etc. The position is based in Royston, Hertfordshire and is a daily rate contract with long term opportunities. The successful candidate will perform the following roles:
*Provide on-site telephone, deskside and remote technical support for over 400 users across 25 sites in the UK & Ireland.
*Provide internal IT Support and Administration duties working directly with the IT manager.
*Provide basic troubleshooting and basic 1st level support (Windows 2003 / 2008, Windows XP, Office 2007, and Blackberries).
*Gather all the required information and details relating to the incidents and log the incident in the call logging software LANDesk.
*Liaise with third parties to ensure quick resolution of incidents.
*Take full responsibility of daily backups using Symantec Backup Exec.
*Perform the day to day tasks of the Service Desk.
*Document known solutions using standardised templates and / or identify and request the documentation of solutions that can be provided by the Service Desk.
