Eden Recruitment is working closely with a Software Development Centre in Galway which is looking to engage a Quality Assurance Engineer on a 6 month contract (Real potential to extend).

The QA Engineer will work within an established QA Team which works closely with the development community building best in class Web Applications (coding within a .NET / C #, JAVA, Oracle production environment).

[b]Position Description:[/b]
* Working on a major website development and re-design project (including back end applications, components and functionality) the QA Engineer will be tasked with providing full functional testing lifecycle for the project. This will include:
* Defining test strategies
* Developing test plans and the creation of test cases, test execution, and results reporting
* Working closely with the local Software Development and Analyst teams
* Collaborating with the companies broader International Development, QA and * * Test functions in India and the USA.

[b]Core Responsibilities:[/b]

* Creation of test plans and corresponding test cases to ensure thorough testing of business requirements in a fast-paced Agile environment
* Test case execution, defect documentation and tracking, and regression through all system tiers
* Proactive communication with developers and other team members to resolve issues
* Identification and documentation of a suite of test cases suitable for an automated regression test suite
* Accurate and timely status reporting with Manager, including issues prohibiting progress when appropriate

[b]Qualifications (Experience and Education):[/b]

* 3-5 years experience with the full spectrum of functional Quality Assurance testing and systems development lifecycles
* Experience with test management utilizing HP’s Quality Center including defect tracking, reporting and metrics
* Skill with SQL as a data mining tool
* (Ideally) experience working with Unix
* Understanding of service oriented architecture (SOA)

[b]Additional skills (Wish-list):[/b]

* Experience with functional test execution utilizing an Agile development methodology
* Detailed knowledge of investing concepts and various investment vehicles
* Experience working within a distributed team
* Experience in the following areas: XML, Java, .Net, Web Services and familiarity with general database concepts
* Experience developing automated test cases
