Test Engineer

Due to ongoing expansion, my Limerick based client is currently looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join their team on an initial 1 year contract basis. It is an excellent opportunity for highly motivated engineer to be part of an agile team within a fast-paced environment. This role will provide the successful candidate with scope to participate in developing and growing the function within the Company.

Overview

This role will develop and maintain various aspects of the SW Test & Test Engineering function within the Company, covering a broad range of products and technologies. The primary areas of responsibility will be to develop, maintain, participate in and be a driving force for;

* SW testing of products (Functional, System, Regression, Performance, Load, Build Validation, Scheduling, etc)
* Creation and maintenance of a library/database of Test related documentation and tools.
* Monitor, report and contribute to the ongoing improvement of all aspects of SW Quality, Design & Delivery within the Company
* Develop & maintain all aspects of the Test Lab and test environments (Hardware/OS/Software)
* Design and creation of SW test tools (Java, C, scripting etc)
* Participation in the generation and delivery of Product and Test related training material
* Participate in Product related documentation reviews and contributions

Skills required

You will have a relevant degree, and several years of relevant Testing experience. You will also have initiative, strong motivation and experience in some of the following areas:

* SW Test (Telecommunications, IP, Distributed Systems, HA)
* SW Test (Functional , Regression, Load, Performance, Unit)
* Design and creation of SW test tools (Java, C, scripting, etc)
* Unix, Linux (Operating Systems Install, Hardware Install)
* IP Networking & Interfaces (Physical and logical setup & configuration, Routing Protocols, Ethernet based Telco Port Cards, various cabling standards)
* Telco Protocols (GSM, CDMA, SS7, Sigtran, SMS/MAP, GPRS/GTP, ISUP, CAP, INAP, USSD etc)
* Telco Services (SMS, Voice, Data , Policy Control)
* SW Quality Metrics & Design principles
* Databases & Scripting (SQL, Oracle, Shell Scripting, Perl, Asp, CGI)
