Are you an enthusiastic and customer focused IT support professional with a proven track record of installing and configuring software on network servers? Looking to join a leading company that pride themselves on the technical expertise of their staff? If so, read on.

Our client provides a wide range of support services to customer throughout Ireland. An exciting opportunity has now arisen for a Network Engineer to join their team.

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for providing pivotal assistance to customers. You will develop an understanding of their needs and effectively install, maintain, operate and configure hardware and software and resolve issues as they arise.

Utilising remote desktop services and visiting customer sites, you will install desktop server, network and communication systems and design and project manage key installations. You will also provide vital technical support and work with users to resolve issues and queries effective and efficiently.

Additionally, you will plan specifications, evaluate technical projects, troubleshoot networking and system problems and document solutions for common issues. You will also evaluate and test software to ensure its smooth functionality.

Your other duties will include:

– Assisting with the perpetration and maintenance of technical information for external users
– Setting up and maintaining enterprise storage environments
– Contributing to the R&D activities of the technical department

To be considered, you must have:

– Experience of installing and configuring software on network servers and PCs within the IT industry
– Experience of supporting UTM devices, such as Sonicwall and Cisco
– A driving licence and access to your own vehicle

As a Network Engineer, you must have strong verbal and written communication skills, superb problem solving and decision making abilities and the willingness to go above and beyond to achieve your goals. Self-motivated and customer focused, you must have a desire to learn new skills and a flexible approach to work.

VMware or virtualisation experience would be beneficial to your application.
