Senior System Administrator – Dublin/ NewYork – €60k

Our Client currently has an excellent opportunity for an System Administrator for a full time role. This role will require travel between Dublin and New York with the role then been based in New York. US Visa/or in the process of applying for a US work visa is highly desired for this role.

The Windows System Administrator will preferably have SQL and PCI experience. The successful candidate will work as part of the IT team to support the windows networks including, proactive network management, Active Directory management, web hosting, directory services, and associated security services. Provides technical support and guidance to local and remote users.

Qualifications Required:
• Experience required in configuring and troubleshooting network equipment such as storage devices, switches, firewalls, and routers
• General administration of Windows servers, physical and virtual machines, and provisioning of new systems
• Provide server management and network support for internal customers
• Proactively ensure that networks, services, and environmental infrastructure is online 24/7
• Maintenance and administration of DNS, SQL databases, Email, and IIS web-hosting systems
• Maintenance and administration of SQL Server Reporting Services and Replication server
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS data security standards and experience in maintaining compliancy of such networks
• Experience with “Server Hardening” processes to enhance server security
• Experience with security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions within the system
• Ability to troubleshoot performance and latency issues on the network
• Troubleshooting computing systems, networks, and applications to identify malfunctions and correct them as well as other operational difficulties.
• Planning and implementing network security, including managing firewalls, managing host security, applying cryptography to network applications, regulating file permissions, and patch management
• Strong experience with MS SQL 20052008 and MS IIS 6 to 7.5
• Strong experience and troubleshooting of Windows server 2003 and 2008 is required
• Experience with Active Directory Domain environment required including DNS management and GPO policy’s
• Experience required with hypervisors including Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware technologies

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Special consideration may be given to applicants holding a CCNA and/or MCSE certifications
Years of Experience:
• Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience with Microsoft networking, TCP/IP PC and Microsoft Windows maintenance and troubleshooting. Must have knowledge of LAN, WAN, wireless, and a good understanding of network routing.Working experience with MS SQL, virtualization, and IIS web servers.
