Senior Network Consultant – Dublin – Contract

Our client requires a Senior Network Consultant for a 3 month contract in Dublin 2.

Skill Set:
The position requires the individual to be the lead networks subject matter expert on a customer project. The role of the Networks expert is to assess the existing environment, recommend changes/optimizations to the environment to support the business going forward. The project involves an applications migration from one Data Center to another.

Responsibilities:
Will be required to assess existing platforms and document recommendations for remedial actions, both mandatory and optional.
Support the Infrastructure and Application teams during the migration project, and provide a technical escalation point for any technical issues which arise during the solution build and project migration phases.
Understanding customer requirements and working within a technical team to agree how they will be met.
Provide technical solution governance.

Must have:
Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert or equivalent.

Technical Architectural skills:
Experience of designing and implementing enterprise class cloud based solutions.
Experience of HA and DR technologies across multiple data centers.
Well developed communication (verbal and written) and consulting skills.
Customer and business orientated.
Service Management aware.
Good team working skills.

Experience with:
Cisco Routers.
MPLS, ISDN and DSL lines.
BT Managed MPLS.
Network architecture optimization.
External voice lines supported by voice providers like Eircom/BT/Azurri Telecom etc.
VLAN and Stretch VLAN.
SAN optimization.
IP range management and firewall configuration.
Familiarity with Netscale and Fortinet.
Familiarly with moving network infrastructure between multiple site campus.
Network design and architecture.
